When Johnny comes marching home again

by Patrick Sarsfield Gilmore

When Johnny comes marching home again,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
We'll give him a hearty welcome then,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The men will cheer, the boys will shout,
The ladies they will all turn out,
And we'll all feel gay
When Johnny comes marching home.

The old church bells will peal with joy,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
To welcome home our darling boy,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The village lads and lassies say
With roses they will strew the way,
And we'll all feel gay
When Johnny comes marching home.

Get ready for the Jubilee,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
We'll give the hero three times three,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The laurel wreath is ready now
To place upon his loyal brow,
And we'll all feel gay
When Johnny comes marching home.

Let love and friendship on that day,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
Their choicest treasures then display,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
And let each one perform some part
To fill with joy the warrior's heart,
And we'll all feel gay
When Johnny comes marching home.

The House I Live In
text: Lewis Allan
musik: Earl Robinson

What is America to me?
A name, a man, or a flag I see.
A certain word, "Democracy".
What is America to me?

The house I live in,
A plot of earth, the street.
The grocer and the butcher
And all the people that I meet.

The children in the playground.
The faces that I see.
All places and religions,
That's America to me.

A place I work in,
The worker by my side
The little town, a city
Where my people lived and died.

The howdy and the hand shake,
The air of feeling free,
And the right to speak your mind out,
That's America to me.

The things I see about me.
The big things and the small.
The little corner newsstand,
Or the house a mile tall.

The wedding in the church yard.
The laughter and the tears.
The dreams that's been a growing
For more than 200 years.

The town I live in,
The street, the house, the road.
The pavement of the city,
Or a garden all in bloom.

The church, the school, the clubhouse,
The million lights I see.
Especially the people.
That's America to me.

Värmen
text: Den  Blyge
(Georg Paulsson)

fanns hundratjugufem kilo bara kvar uta´n,
